In mid 2019 I started on an adventure raising purebred Katahdin sheep in the Lac La Nonne area. 20 years ago, I had raised wool sheep, but found the Katahdin breed a better fit. They are a hair sheep that are low maintenance and don't require shearing. I have found them to be a hardy, fast growing breed with good maternal instincts.
